Kritzer/Reflection 2

These images are examples of the Principles of Design. All of these photos were taken by 8th grade Art students.

I will use this album as a slideshow in class to help teach the Photography portion of our Principles of Design unit.

Principles of Design Photos

What did I learn in class so far today?
-I learned that you can save Power Point slides as JPEGs and they can then be used as part of a slideshow in iPhoto.
-I learned how to upload & create albums in Picassa.
-I learned that iPhoto has a retouch feature that is similar to the clone stamp in Adobe Photoshop.
-I learned that you can easily organize photos of people in iPohto by tagging with names.

- I now understand the difference between File names and Title names.

- On a side note, I never knew you could save your Power Point as a jpg images.

Photo tips and techniques used and new things discovered from IPhoto:

1) One tip regarding photos that I liked was the the Kodak website that listed the 10 Best Technique Tips for various times of photos.
2) I learned many new things in IPhoto such as: what an Event was, how to create a slide show, how to title individual pictures or create a title for all the photos use "Batch Change", and how to edit photos.

Knowing that the art teacher in each of the elementary buildings has a set of 15 cameras inspires me to what to using cameras in my classroom.

  • My pictures are based on signs that give information.
  • Each photo was taken so that the signs are easy to read and clear. I used close ups, down to the level of the sign, and flash techniques.

  • I tried to find pictures that represented something from my high school experience at FHS. I later found photos I took in high school to preface the photos and changed their coloring to differentiate them from the new photos.
  • With each photo, I tried to focus on the unique or memorable parts rather than take a picture of the entire object.
